Psychological adverse effects of COVID-19 pandemic on health service providers: an online survey

Abstract Background In the current situation of COVID-19 pandemic, health service providers (HCPs) suffered from mental consequences such as depression, anxiety, fear, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The study aimed to evaluate adverse psychological impacts pandemic on HSPs at Tabriz University Medical Science, North West Iran. An online survey was conducted assess effects during May 2021 February 2022. Psychological including PTSD, fear were measured using valid instruments. Overall, 298 responded questionnaires. Descriptive multiple logistic regression analyses with crude adjusted ORs used estimate effects. Results overall prevalence depressive symptoms, major depression (MDD), probable PTSD 58%, 9.1%, 61.7%, 15%, respectively. scale (mean) 17.6± 6.2. We found higher in who worked treatment sections than support section. Having a history disorder, HSP type (health treatment), female sex had statistically significant association MDD symptoms. Conclusions Mental problems high HSPs. highlights demand for systems appropriate interventions improving HSPs’ well-being pandemic.
